We've decided to have a blog. We're halfway through orientation at Mennonite Central Committee in Akron, PA, preparing for a three-year assignment in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
It's nice to have this time to focus on what's ahead and meet others who are getting ready to make similar transitions. Very encouraging and energizing. This past weekend we were home and enjoyed some quality time with our neighborhood community - something we'll certainly miss in the months ahead.
After orientation, we'll have one week to finish moving out of our house, and then 12 days before flying - we'll actually fly to Honduras first, for Laurie's brother's wedding, and then arrive in Bolivia August 12 if all goes according to plan. Stay tuned...
